This rare factory-bodied cabriolet version of Daimler's DB17 has coachwork by Tickford of Newport Pagnell. At £695, it was the most expensive body option in 1938. It is believed to be the only surviving example of its type. It was restored during the 1980s, although further work has been carried out since then on the suspension, a brake overhaul and correct Avon Tourist tyres. The Tickford roof can be raised or lowered using the winding handle fitted in the nearside rear quarter and can be operated by one person. The car was registered in June 1938 and is showing 95,676 miles on its odometer. Although, as an historic vehicle, it is now MoT-exempt, it has been given one which is valid through to December 2024.
The car comes with its V5C, original service manual, invoices for work carried out totalling approximately £5000, a 1937 advert and some technical information.
