This 1056cc Riley Monaco dates from 1933, being registered in February of that year. The vendor describes it as running and driving with working brakes, always starting easily and with decent oil pressure, although it has received very little use since it was purchased last year. The Riley is believed to have been refreshed in the 1980s but is still very original, albeit with new good quality carpets and headlining. The sliding sunroof is still operational, with the fabric roof in good condition. Upgrades include discrete indicators, brake lights and an electric fuel pump. Recent work has included a change of engine oil.
The odometer shows 33,642 miles while three registered keepers are recorded by the V5C. There's no record of an MoT as far back as 2005, when online MoT data began. However, as an historic vehicle, the Riley no longer needs annual testing. Paperwork includes the V5C, an original Riley 9 instruction book, various other period booklets, MoTs back to 1988 (when the mileage was 32,837 miles), 1933 correspondence with Riley, some technical information and the buff continuation logbook. There's also old tax discs, invoices, photos of the car and the book Riley Cars 1896-1969 by Rob Malpas.
