This 2.8-litre variant of the Ford Granada MkII is in top-of-the-range Ghia spec and was registered in January 1984. Its odometer shows circa 126,000 miles and six registered keepers are recorded by the V5C. Its last MoT expired in June 2024 after being tested the previous year at an indicated (1)25,582 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the Granada is now MoT-exempt. As a tribute to the car used in the second series of The Sweeney, the car is badged as a 2.8 rather than a Ghia. A new alternator was fitted in June 2024, along with new aluminium timing chains in and a front main oil seal, water jackets and seals, new sump gasket, new oil and filter and antifreeze in July. Police-spec air horns were also installed during that same month at a cost of £200. In August 2024 the Ford's speakers were upgraded along with a Kenwood radio fitted plus a towbar, TRX alloys and tyres, along with an early grille, spotlights, back lights and a dummy CB on the dash (attached by Velcro) plus a ‘VHK’ registration number assigned. The vendor tells us that the car runs and drives well and has recently completed a 600-mile holiday trip. Please note the original chassis plate in the floor has been cut out, and a plate welded in (See photo on the website).
The Granada comes with its V5C, old V5, club dating letter, MoTs back to 1991, some invoices and the owner's handbook.
