This 1954 Standard Vanguard is believed to have had just one owner up until 2014, with the car being in storage from 1991 until recommissioned in 2016 with many new and reconditioned parts. It has been a rolling restoration since then, with new pistons and liners, unleaded cylinder head conversion, recored radiator and stainless steel exhaust. It was resprayed in 2021. Recent work has included new fuel pipes and tap. It was registered in August 1954 and has 74,816 miles on its odometer. There's no record of an MoT back to 2005, when online records began; however, as an historic vehicle, the Standard no longer requires annual testing.
The car runs and drives and is free from any major issues, although the vendor, who has owned it since December 2015, notes that the heater doesn't fully shut off and the trafficators sometimes need their switch held to stay out. Paperwork includes the V5C (showing two registered keepers), Standard Vanguard parts catalogue, workshop manual, owner's manual, some invoices from the original owner as well as some more recent ones. There's also a Standard and Triumph spares and service directory. HMV radio instructions, paint chart and brochure, plus spare keys.
